Description

Martell Cordon Bleu was created in 1912 by Edouard Martell, the great-grandson of the founder. Named after the blue ribbon which is an international emblem of excellence, it was destined to be one of a kind: a new quality of cognac to delight even the most demanding connoisseurs. Its distinctive taste, characterised by a predominance of eaux-de-vie from the Borderies, and its timeless bottle design have made it a classic – an icon in the world of cognac and beyond.

With eaux-de-vie aged for between 10 and 25 years, well beyond the regulatory six, Martell Cordon Bleu is endowed with beautiful complexity and rich aromas, making it a legendary cognac. Its high proportion of Borderies marks this blend, expanding on its caramelised character with the smoothness of sweet spieces, gingerbread, and roasted cocoa beans.

About Martell
In 1715, Jean Martell, a young merchant originally from Jersey, created his own trading business at Gatebourse in Cognac, on the banks of the Charente, and thus founded one of the first cognac houses. Martell used grapes from the vineyards in the Borderie subregion, and used Tronçais oak for its casks, this made a combination that resulted in an exceptionally smooth cognac. The company is now a part of the Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët subsidiary of the French wines and spirits conglomerate Pernod Ricard.
